El-Sisi holds phone call with Iranian President

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call on Friday from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian to discuss the ongoing regional escalation.

Axar.az reports, citing Egypt Today, according to the official spokesperson of the Egyptian Presidency, El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt’s unequivocal condemnation and rejection of Iran’s attacks on Gulf countries, Jordan, and Iraq.

President Pezeshkian, in turn, expressed appreciation for Egypt’s mediation efforts and reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to maintaining good neighborly relations with Arab states.

He also confirmed Iran’s continued participation in discussions regarding its nuclear program.

El-Sisi and Pezeshkian discussed possiblities to end the escalation, with Egypt reiterating its readiness to help mediate and prioritize dialogue over military action.
