France ready to facilitate ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon

France is ready to facilitate ceasefire discussions between Israel and Lebanon in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron said in a post on X.

Axar.az informs he said that the Lebanese executive has expressed its readiness for direct talks with Israel.

"All components of the country must be represented in these discussions. Israel should seize this opportunity to begin talks, establish a ceasefire, find a lasting solution, and allow the Lebanese authorities to implement their commitments to Lebanon’s sovereignty."

Macron also stated that Hezbollah must immediately stop its escalation and Israel must abandon plans for a large-scale offensive and halt its massive strikes, as hundreds of thousands of people have already fled the bombardments.

"Everything must be done to prevent Lebanon from descending into chaos," he said.
