Turkiye urges action to prevent Iran conflict, Fidan says

"The war has begun to spread in Lebanon” and is “becoming increasingly complicated in Iraq. Our efforts on what kind of steps can be taken to remove this calamity that has befallen the Islamic world are ongoing,” Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, made the remarks.

Axar.az reports that Turkish FM, after meeting with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand, also commented on the latest situation in Iran:

“On the other hand, Israel’s political assassinations, especially targeting Iranian state officials and politicians, are illegal activities outside the normal laws of war. These must end as soon as possible.”

Referring to tensions caused by U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran, Fidan said, “We believe it is essential to keep dialogue channels open and address all parties’ concerns within a negotiation framework to establish peace.”

Fidan noted that he and Anand exchanged views on the general course of Turkiye-Canada relations and areas for further development:

“Although Turkiye and Canada are located in distant regions, we are two long-standing allies who share the same vision for global peace and stability.”
