Vance plans Hungary visit in show of support for Orban

U.S. Vice President JD Vance is set to visit Hungary in the coming days to express support for the country's long-standing nationalist Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Axar.az reports, citing Reuters, the visit follows U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s trip to Budapest in February, during which he publicly endorsed Orban ahead of what is shaping up to be his most challenging re‑election bid since taking office in 2010.

Recent opinion polls indicate Orban is trailing in the final month before the April 12 vote.

The exact timing of Vance's visit was not immediately clear and his plans could change.

The White House has not yet commented on Vance's visit to Hungry.
