Iran urges EU to pressure U.S. and Israel to end war

Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, called on the European Union and its member states to apply pressure on all parties involved in the Middle East conflict to end military operations and restore stability in the region.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, Araghchi, in a phone conversation with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, stated that Iran is committed to defending its territorial integrity and national sovereignty.

Iran's FM stated that "disruptions to navigation in the Strait of Hormuz are caused by the U.S. and Israeli-imposed war, and that if the European Union and European countries are genuinely concerned about peace and security in the region, they should pressure the aggressors and work to stop their military actions against the Iranian people, instead of taking irresponsible positions," adding that it (the disruptions) is "the dangerous consequences of America’s plans to draw other countries into its criminal war against Iran."

EU Kallas expressed concern over the security, humanitarian, and economic impacts of the situation and reiterated the EU’s support for a peaceful resolution.
