Iran war challenges Trump’s political standing in U.S.

President Donald Trump’s war with Iran is creating both political and economic challenges for his presidency.

Axar.az reports, citing Economist, the conflict continues to disrupt global oil supply, raising fuel prices in the U.S. and hurting voters, particularly in Republican-leaning states.

The war’s unpopularity has weakened Trump’s standing in the Republican Party and threatens midterm election prospects, with Democrats energized and battleground states seeing significant anti-Trump sentiment. Rising gasoline and diesel costs, along with the deaths of 13 U.S. soldiers, have eroded support among key constituencies, including young people and Latino voters.

Trump faces criticism for poor communication, underestimating Iran’s retaliatory capabilities, and alienating allies such as NATO and Israel.
