Putin congratulates CIS and Iran leaders on Nowruz

Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated the heads of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Iran on the occasion of Nowruz.

Axar.az reports the congratulations were addressed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev; President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov; President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon; President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov; Chairman of the Turkmen People’s Council, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov; and President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In the messages, the Russian leader emphasized the high level of bilateral relations with the CIS countries and expressed confidence that mutually beneficial, multifaceted ties will continue to develop successfully.

Separate congratulations for Nowruz were sent to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei, and President Masoud Pezeshkian.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova emphasized that Moscow will continue to support the Iranian people.
