Power outage hits northern Ukraine after Russian attack

Russia attacked an energy facility in the Nizhyn district of Ukraine’s Chernihiv region, leaving a large part of the area without electricity.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, the emergency repair and restoration work has already begun.

It should be noted that on February 24, 2022, Russia launched a large-scale invasion of Ukraine, marking the start of the Russia–Ukraine war. Currently, Russia controls approximately 20 percent of Ukraine’s territory, including parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson regions.

Previously, in 2014, Russia annexed Crimea, which was part of Ukraine.
