US House Speaker says Iran mission virtually accomplished

"I do think the original mission is virtually accomplished now,” speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, made the remarks.

Axar.az reports, in an interview with Associated Press, Johnson stated “we were trying to take out the ballistic missiles, and their means of production, and neuter the navy, and those objectives have been met,” he said.

Johnson said Iran’s continued ability to threaten vessels in the Strait of Hormuz is prolonging the situation, particularly because many U.S. allies have largely declined the president’s appeals for assistance.

“As soon as we bring some calm to the situation, I think it’s all but done,” Johnson said.
