Iran, Turkiye FMs discuss regional security and tensions

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi held a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan regarding regional developments and global security.

Axar.az reports, citing IRNA, during the call, Araghchi stated that Iran’s actions targeting U.S. military bases in regional countries fall within the framework of self-defense.

Discussing the potential blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi noted that the instability in the region is a direct result of the actions of the U.S. and Israel.

The Turkish Foreign Minister highlighted the consequences of the ongoing conflict in the region and discussed recent consultations with officials from regional countries, emphasizing the importance of efforts to reduce tensions and strengthen relations between Iran and other regional states.
