Ghalibaf warns U.S. against regional troop deployments

The Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, has issued a warning to the United States and Israel, asserting that Tehran is "closely monitoring all US movements in the region, especially troop deployments."

Axar.az reports that Ghalibaf’s comments come amid a high-stakes military standoff and reported back-channel communications between Washington and Tehran.

In a statement, the Speaker dismissed the possibility of soldiers rectifying what he described as the destruction caused by leadership. "What the generals have broken, the soldiers can't fix," Ghalibaf stated, adding that U.S. troops would instead become victims of Netanyahu’s fantasies.

"They will fall victim to Netanyahu's delusions. Do not test our resolve to defend our land," he wrote on X.

While Israeli and U.S. sources have suggested Ghalibaf himself might be a key interlocutor in peace talks, he has publicly labeled such reports as fake news intended to manipulate global oil and financial markets.

The remarks follow recent reports that the U.S. is deploying thousands of additional troops from the 82nd Airborne Division to the Middle East.
