Iran is prepared to open new strategic fronts, specifically targeting the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, if any ground operations are launched against Iranian territory or its islands.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, an Iranian military source stated that the Iranian military is continuously monitoring the movements of opposing forces (US-Israel) and warned that any attempt to seize land or increase maritime pressure in the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman would trigger a costly response.

The source characterized the Bab el-Mandeb as a critical global chokepoint, asserting that Iran possesses both the will and the capability to project a credible threat in the region.

According to the report, these surprise measures are intended to counter potential U.S. efforts to bypass the current challenges in the Strait of Hormuz. The official concluded by stating that Iran is fully prepared for an escalation and cited previous regional incidents as evidence of their operational readiness.

Additionally, Iranian state television previously announced that if a ground operation begins, the Iranian army is ready to take control of the coastlines of the UAE and Bahrain and transform the region.
