Russia completes second phase of aid delivery to Iran

Today, according to the instructions of the President of Russia and the orders of the leadership of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM), the second phase of the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to Iran has been completed.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by Dmitry Melnik, Director of the International Activities Department of the Russian EMERCOM.

He noted that the aid consisted of 300 tons of various medications:

“The delivery of the cargo took nearly four days and was made possible through the joint efforts of various agencies in Russia and Azerbaijan. On this occasion, I would like to thank both the employees of the Russian agencies and our Azerbaijani colleagues who contributed to the prompt delivery of the humanitarian aid.”

It should be noted that a cargo train consisting of 31 wagons belonging to the Russian EMERCOM, carrying humanitarian aid to Iran, was dispatched from the "Astara Railway" customs-border crossing point late last night. The total weight of the humanitarian cargo exceeds 300 tons.
