Meloni takes interim control of tourism ministry

Italy's Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni has officially assumed the leadership of the Ministry of Tourism following the forced resignation of Daniela Santanche.

Axar.az reports, citing Italian media, the transition was formalized by a decree from President Sergio Mattarella following high-level discussions at the Quirinale.

Despite Meloni’s public determination as prime minister, reports suggest the government is weighing several scenarios to avoid political attrition—including the possibility of calling for early elections between June and October to capitalize on current polling before the opposition can fully organize.
