US loses 24 MQ-9 drones in Iran conflict

The U.S. Department of Defense has lost eight MQ-9 Reaper drones in the Middle East since April 1, bringing the total number of such drones lost in the Iran conflict to 24.

Axar.az reports, citing CBS News, that the information was provided by two U.S. officials who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly.

The losses are estimated at around $720 million. Depending on the variant, a single MQ-9 Reaper drone can cost $30 million or more.
