The United States and its allies are pursuing a destructive policy of militarizing space, turning near-Earth orbit into a potential platform for aggression.

Axar.az informs that this was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

“There is a serious and alarming trend. The situation in space security is rapidly worsening. The risks of space being turned into a platform for aggression—and even war—are reaching unprecedented levels. This is largely due to the US and its allies pushing to deploy weapons in outer space and use near-Earth orbit for military operations aimed at securing global dominance,” she said.

Zakharova described the policy as “destructive,” warning that it threatens the long-term sustainability of space activities and poses risks to key socio-economic processes on Earth, particularly in developing countries.
