At the U15 European Wrestling Championships held in Samokov, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan’s wrestlers finished the competition with a strong medal haul.

Axar.az reports, citing the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, that five Azerbaijani freestyle wrestlers reached the podium on the final day of competition.

Yusif Abdullayev (38 kg) became European champion after defeating Rezi Yobidze 10–0 in the final, continuing his unbeaten run with early victories throughout the tournament.

Elman Ismayilov (41 kg) won silver after losing to Bulgaria’s Simyon Velikov 4–15 in the final.

Mammad Karimov (44 kg) secured bronze with a dominant 16–6 win over Belarusian Aleksandr Hamov.

Adam Guliyev (52 kg) took silver after a narrow 7–9 defeat to Russia’s Badruddin Magomedov in the final.

Yusif Huseynov (62 kg) claimed bronze after defeating Russia’s Zaur Najmudinov 5–0 in the bronze medal match.

Overall, Azerbaijan’s freestyle wrestling team collected six medals at the continental championship. Earlier, Elvin Najafzade (85 kg) also won gold.
