Russia lifts flight restrictions on UAE and Iran routes

Russia’s civil aviation authority Rosaviatsia has lifted its recommendation to suspend ticket sales for flights to the United Arab Emirates and removed restrictions on Russian airlines’ use of Iranian airspace.

Axar.az reports that the decision was announced by Rosaviatsia in coordination with the Russian Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Russian airlines are now allowed to resume ticket sales for flights to and from the UAE, as well as operate transit and direct flights to airports in Iran, provided that all instructions issued by Iranian aviation authorities are strictly followed.

Rosaviatsia noted that the decision follows earlier restrictions introduced after the suspension of flights in late February due to regional military tensions in the Middle East.
