Armenian PM Pashinyan condemns burning of Turkish flag

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has condemned the practice of burning flags, describing it as irresponsible and unacceptable.

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, the Prime Minister’s spokesperson Nazeli Baghdasaryan made the statement.

“The Prime Minister condemns this practice and considers it irresponsible and unacceptable. The burning of the flag of a state recognized at the international level, especially a neighboring country, cannot be interpreted differently by a head of government. This is clearly a provocative and escalatory act,” she said.

It should be noted that the Turkish flag was burned in Yerevan ahead of a torchlight procession held in memory of the so-called “victims of the Armenian genocide.”
