193 Ukrainian, Russian POWs exchanged in latest deal

A prisoner exchange involving 193 detainees on each side has been carried out between Russia and Ukraine.

Axar.az reports, citing RBC-Ukraine, the exchange was confirmed by Ukrainian officials, with President Volodymyr Zelensky stating that 193 Ukrainian servicemen — including members of the Armed Forces, National Guard, Border Guard Service, National Police, and State Special Transport Service — have been returned home.

Ukrainian officials said the exchange was carried out as part of the ongoing prisoner swap process between the two countries. Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov noted that the operation formed part of a broader coordinated exchange effort.

The report also stated that the exchange took place with assistance from international partners, including the United States and the United Arab Emirates.
