Armenia still pursuing 'two chairs' policy, Ushakov says

Russia’s Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov has said that Armenia continues to pursue a policy of “sitting on two chairs.”

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Ushakov made the remarks while commenting on the European Political Community summit held in Yerevan and Armenia’s signing of a strategic partnership agreement with the United Kingdom.

He noted that during a meeting in Moscow in April between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, all issues were clarified, but Armenia’s subsequent actions present a different picture.

“Unfortunately, Yerevan continues to try to follow, as I would say, a policy of ‘sitting on two chairs.’ How long it is possible to stay in this position, so to speak, I do not know. But all this, of course, harms the development of our bilateral relations, which are so beneficial for Russia and Armenia,” he said.
