Zelensky confirms three-day ceasefire

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Ukraine and Russia had agreed to conduct a 1,000-for-1,000 prisoner exchange as part of negotiations mediated by the United States.

Axar.az reports that Zelensky shared the statement on his X account.

According to the Ukrainian president, a ceasefire is also expected to be in effect on May 9, 10, and 11.

"A ceasefire regime must also be established on May 9, 10, and 11. Ukraine is consistently working to bring its people home from Russian captivity. I have instructed our team to promptly prepare everything necessary for the exchange," he added.

It should be noted that Trump had earlier announced that a three-day ceasefire would be declared between Ukraine and Russia.
