Hungary summons Russian Ambassador over drone strike

Hungary has strongly condemned a Russian drone attack on Ukraine’s Zakarpattia region and summoned the Russian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry, Prime Minister Péter Magyar said.

Axar.az reports, citing Hungarian media, Magyar stated that Foreign Minister Anita Orban summoned the Russian ambassador to a meeting on Thursday morning in response to the attack.

He said the large-scale Russian drone strikes targeted western Ukraine, including residential areas and infrastructure in Volyn and Zakarpattia regions.

Magyar added that the government “strongly condemns” the attack on Zakarpattia, noting that it is also home to an ethnic Hungarian community, and said the ambassador would be asked to provide explanations regarding the escalation of the war.
