The President of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian has called for reforms in procedures and regulations related to the supply of essential goods, stressing the need to improve efficiency and coordination in food security management.
Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, Pezeshkian said state-owned companies in the essential goods sector must act as a strategic arm of the government in ensuring food security and market stability.
He emphasized the need for continuous review of procedures and regulations to facilitate foreign trade and called for upgrading commercial companies handling essential goods to international standards.
Pezeshkian also underlined the importance of transparency in financial structures.
“The structure of income, costs, and profitability must be clearly defined, and the financial performance of companies should be evaluated based on precise economic indicators,” he said.
He added that the reasons for losses in state-owned companies must be clearly identified and addressed, and that legal or regulatory obstacles should be reported with concrete, expert recommendations for government decision-making.
The president also stressed the need for greater coordination between economic institutions and the country’s banking system.
