Serbia's Security Information Agency (BIA) has officially advised President Aleksandar Vucic not to travel to Montenegro for the upcoming EU–Western Balkans Summit, citing a high security risk.
Axar.az reports, citing Serbian media, operational intelligence indicates that Radoje Zvicer, the alleged leader of the Kavac criminal clan, is currently in Montenegro.
The warning was confirmed by Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic, who said Vucic remains determined to attend the summit in Tivat despite the security assessment.
"The president does not want to hear about canceling his trip to Montenegro. It is something he promised to do. He always keeps his word and his promises," Brnabic told Informer TV.
She added that Vucic is scheduled to hold several important high-level meetings in Tivat and is fully aware of the security concerns, but is unlikely to change his plans.
Earlier, the BIA announced that it had formally recommended that Vucic not travel to Montenegro after determining that a high security risk exists.
Zvicer is wanted in connection with multiple criminal investigations and is alleged by Serbian authorities to be the leader of the Kavac organized crime group.
