Putin calls Trump’s Iran ceasefire decision right move

Russian President Vladimir Putin has called US President Donald Trump’s decision to suspend hostilities in Iran the right move and expressed hope that the ceasefire will lead to a lasting peace in the region.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that Putin made the remarks during the plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

“We are neighbors with the Arab countries as well. Frankly speaking, this puts us in a difficult situation. But we proceed from the understanding that the decision made by President Trump to suspend hostilities is the only correct one. And we very much hope that the ceasefire that currently exists will lead to the conclusion of a long-term peace,” Putin said.
