IMF unlocks $25 mln for Armenia

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has completed the first review of Armenia’s Stand-By Arrangement (SBA), allowing the country to access 18.4 million SDRs (about $25.1 million).

Axar.az reports, citing the International Monetary Fund, total access under the program has now reached 36.8 million SDRs (around $50.2 million). The arrangement, approved in December 2025, continues to be treated by Armenia as a precautionary measure.

The fund noted that Armenia’s economy remains resilient, although growth is expected to slow to about 5.25% in 2026 amid weaker domestic demand and regional trade disruptions.

The IMF added that all key program targets were met and called for continued fiscal discipline and structural reforms.
