US embassy urges Americans to leave Iraq

The US Embassy in Baghdad has urged American citizens to maintain the highest level of vigilance, remain alert, and continuously monitor local news sources.

Axar.az informs that the statement was posted on the US Embassy Baghdad’s official X account.

“The US Embassy in Iraq reminds citizens that Iraq remains under a Level 4 travel advisory: Do Not Travel.

US citizens are advised as follows: ‘Do not travel to Iraq for any reason. If you are currently there, leave immediately.’”

The embassy also advised US citizens to contact their airlines directly for information on flight status.
