Russia and Germany together could form a powerful economic force, and restoring ties would be beneficial for both sides.

Axar.az inform that this was stated by Kirill Dmitriev, Special Representative of the Russian President for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, in an interview with the newspaper Berliner Zeitung.

“We believe that Germany and Russia together could form one of the most powerful economic forces that has ever existed in the world, if they cooperated,” he said. “The combination of German technology, the Russian people, and Russian resources would be a powerful force,” Dmitriev added.

“There is a sense that a lot of effort has been made to divide us,” he noted. Dmitriev recalled that due to Germany’s refusal to import Russian energy supplies, energy costs for industrial companies in Germany have become 30–40% more expensive. “This means that industrial enterprises are leaving Germany,” he said. “In this regard, we believe it would be beneficial for both countries, Germany and Russia, to start restoring ties,” Dmitriev emphasized.
