Vucic says he plans to resign

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has said that he plans to resign from office.

Axar.az reports, citing Serbian media, Vucic said he intends to step down in three or four months, possibly even sooner.

“I have already started packing my books. I have a lot of them, and I am currently looking for a place to put them all,” Vucic told Danas.

He also said he is considering running for the post of Serbia’s prime minister.

According to Vucic, Serbia will hold early parliamentary elections by November.

Vucic has maintained close ties with Russia, and Serbia has continued importing Russian gas during Russia’s war in Ukraine.
