U.S. ends maritime blockade enforcement around Iran

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) said American forces have lifted the blockade on maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, following a directive from President Donald Trump.

Axar.az reports that in a statement, CENTCOM said U.S. forces are no longer restricting the movement of vessels connected to Iranian ports.

“American forces are not impeding the transit of vessels to or from Iranian ports. All U.S. military blockade enforcement efforts have ceased,” CENTCOM said.

The command added that U.S. naval forces would remain in the region to monitor compliance with the agreement.

“Our great Naval Ships will remain in the general area to make sure that all aspects of the agreement are adhered to, obeyed and in full force and effect,” the statement said.
