Letexier to remain at World Cup

A decision has been made regarding French referee Francois Letexier, who officiated the Argentina–Egypt match.

Axar.az reports that the head referee is not expected to be removed from officiating the remaining matches of the World Cup.

The tournament's organizing committee and the refereeing panel were satisfied with his performance, and Letexier will continue to receive appointments for matches in the later stages of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

It should be noted that the Egyptian Football Association filed an official complaint with FIFA over Letexier's decisions after Egypt's 3-2 defeat to Argentina.
