Russia’s Foreign Ministry has canceled its recommendation for Russian citizens to avoid non-essential trips to Arab Gulf countries following a stabilization of the regional situation.
Axar.az reports, citing the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the decision was made after the June 17 memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran on ending the military conflict.
“Due to the signing of the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran on the cessation of the military conflict and the stabilization of the situation in the Middle East region, the Russian Foreign Ministry sees no need to maintain the previously issued recommendations for Russian citizens to refrain from visiting, for private purposes including tourism, the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council,” the ministry said.
The Foreign Ministry added that it expects the agreements reached to be implemented in good faith, helping to ensure long-term normalization in the Gulf region and further development of tourism, cultural, humanitarian, and business ties.
The ministry also urged Russians abroad to remain cautious and follow updates from official authorities and Russian diplomatic missions.
