Three killed as building collapses in New Delhi

Three people have been killed after a building known as Hostel Daze collapsed in New Delhi, India, with dozens of people feared trapped under the rubble.

Axar.az reports, citing Indian media, that the five-story building was located in the densely populated Satya Niketan area, near the Delhi University campus, which is known for its private student hostels. Renovation work was reportedly underway in the basement when the building collapsed.

According to firefighters, two more people were seriously injured, while six others were rescued. Between 30 and 40 people are believed to be trapped under the rubble.

“The exact number of people trapped or injured is not yet known. Further information will be released as it is confirmed,” the Delhi Police said in a statement.
