Rubio heads to Gulf amid Iran deal discussions

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain from June 23–25 to discuss regional priorities, including the recent memorandum of understanding with Iran and efforts to ensure safe and unrestricted transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

Axar.az reports, according to a State Department statement, Rubio’s meetings will focus on strengthening regional stability and addressing shared security concerns.

During his visit to Bahrain, Rubio will also meet with representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to discuss common priorities across the region.
