Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said he welcomed the cessation of hostilities and efforts to ease tensions during a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian.
Axar.az reports, citing Vucic's Instagram account, the two leaders discussed the importance of dialogue, cooperation, and political decisions aimed at securing lasting peace.
“I emphasized that Serbia welcomes the cessation of armed hostilities and the courageous political decisions that lead to reducing tensions, dialogue and lasting peace, as well as the continuation of talks and cooperation.”
He also stressed the importance of reconstruction and economic recovery in affected areas.
“I also emphasized the importance of rebuilding the affected areas and returning economic development to the center of political and social priorities, because stability, economic progress and connectivity between states are the strongest foundations of peace, both for the Middle East and for the wider international community,” Vucic said.
“Serbia will continue to support every responsible effort toward a more just, secure and peaceful world, convinced that lasting solutions are built through dialogue, mutual respect and compromise,” he added.
