Turkiye, Poland to boost defense cooperation

Turkiye and Poland are ready to further strengthen cooperation in the defense industry sector. The two countries have already implemented several joint projects, including those related to the supply of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and continue to cooperate as two important NATO allies.

Axar.az reports, citing Turkish media, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan made the remarks during a joint press conference with Polish President Karol Nawrocki in Ankara.

Erdogan described Turkiye-Poland cooperation as mutually beneficial and thanked Warsaw for supporting Ankara’s European Union membership bid.

He also said that strengthening NATO’s European pillar and enhancing the alliance’s deterrence are among the shared priorities of Turkiye and Poland ahead of the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara.

Meanwhile, Nawrocki emphasized the importance of defense industry cooperation between the two countries, saying:

“Cooperation between the Turkish and Polish defense industries is indispensable and highly important for both countries.”

He added that Poland is ready to further develop cooperation with Turkiye's defense industry following the agreements signed between the two countries.
