Putin: Russia replaced imported aviation equipment

Russia has managed to replace all imported aviation equipment with domestically produced alternatives as a result of sanctions pressure, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

Axar.az reports that Putin made the remarks during a meeting on the development of Russia's domestic aviation industry.

“Even highly developed countries with strong aviation traditions and solid aircraft manufacturing capabilities rely on extensive international cooperation for a number of reasons. Due to sanctions pressure, our situation changed. Russia was forced to act, but it proved capable of completely replacing all imports,” Putin said.

He also stated that in a number of areas, Russian aviation technology not only matches but also exceeds foreign counterparts.

“In a number of sectors, we have not only achieved equipment that is on par with the world's best models, but in a whole range of components, we have surpassed foreign benchmarks,” he said.

Putin emphasized that Russia is capable of independently producing the full range of military and civilian aircraft.

“This is one of the key indicators of a country's technological, scientific, and industrial sovereignty. Few countries possess such unique competencies. Russia is among them,” Putin said.
