Rubinyan selected for Armenia Parliament Speaker post

Ruben Rubinyan has been selected as a candidate for the position of Speaker of Armenia’s National Assembly (Parliament).

Axar.az reports, citing Armenian media, that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this to journalists after a session of the National Assembly.

Rubinyan previously served as Deputy Speaker of the Armenian parliament.

"Earlier, Ruben Rubinyan was nominated as the Civil Contract party’s candidate for Speaker of the National Assembly following discussions and a closed secret ballot at a meeting of the party’s governing board," Pashinyan said.

It was noted that the candidates for the parliamentary speaker position were Alen Simonyan, Hayk Konjoryan, and Ruben Rubinyan.
