IRGC warns of wider response to U.S. strikes

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy said it had struck U.S. military positions in the region in response to what it described as American aggression.

Axar.az reports, citing IRNA, that the IRGC claimed the United States violated its commitments by launching airstrikes against Iran's coastline.

"In response to this aggression, the IRGC Navy targeted positions of the terrorist U.S. Army in the region," the statement said.

The statement added that, under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, Iran is responsible for regulating traffic through the Strait of Hormuz and accused the United States of attempting to violate that arrangement.

"If the aggression is repeated, our response will be more extensive than this," the statement said.
