Russia considering full ban on diesel fuel exports

Russia is considering imposing a complete ban on diesel fuel exports, President Vladimir Putin said.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Putin noted that temporary restrictions have already been introduced on exports of gasoline and jet fuel to protect domestic consumers.

"A temporary ban has been imposed on exports of gasoline and aviation kerosene in the interests of domestic consumers. The need for a complete ban on diesel fuel exports is also being considered," Putin said.

Putin added that officials would also discuss the possibility of a domestic fuel oversupply, stressing that the aim is to prevent additional problems in the domestic market.
