Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian during a visit to Tehran.

Axar.az reports, citing TASS, that a Russian delegation arrived in Iran to attend mourning ceremonies for the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

“On behalf of the leadership and people of the Russian Federation, I express my deepest condolences over the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. We grieve together with the Iranian people over this immeasurable loss,” Medvedev said.

The Russian delegation also included Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev and Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko.
