Iran lawmaker says Pezeshkian sent 28 letters to Khamenei

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian's government sent 28 letters to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei urging him to approve negotiations with the United States.

Axar.az reports, citing Iranian media, that Iranian lawmaker Abolfazl Aboutorabi said that the government insisted on authorizing the talks and also threatened Khamenei.

"One should question the judgment of those who support negotiations," the lawmaker said.

He further claimed that Pezeshkian's administration had fallen into what he described as the United States' "negotiation trap."

"If the Islamic Republic had endured the war for another two weeks, the United States and President Donald Trump would have accepted all of Iran's demands before the negotiations began," he said.
