Kazakhstan, U.S. discuss Tokayev's G20 Summit visit

Kazakhstan and the United States have discussed preparations for President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's upcoming visit to the U.S. for the G20 Summit during a phone call between Kazakh Foreign Minister Yermek Kosherbayev and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

Axar.az reports, citing Kazakhstan media, that according to Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry, the two officials reviewed key issues under the countries' Enhanced Strategic Partnership and also held detailed talks on the situation surrounding the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC).

The discussions come ahead of Tokayev's planned participation in the G20 Summit in Miami later this year. Earlier, the Kazakh president reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties during a meeting with U.S. Senator Steve Daines.
