Russian forces launched an overnight strike on Kyiv on August 1, leaving at least nine people dead, while the number of injured continues to rise.

Axar.az reports, citing Ukrainian media, that according to Ukraine's State Emergency Service (SES), in the Solomianskyi district, two people were killed and eight others were injured, including two children. A five-story residential building was partially destroyed and caught fire, while cars in a nearby parking lot were also set ablaze. Three people were hospitalized, and rescuers evacuated 35 residents from the upper floors.

In the Darnytskyi district, seven people were killed and 14 were injured, including two children. The strikes caused fires and damage to an administrative building, a non-residential structure, vehicles, and nearby homes.

In the Shevchenkivskyi district, fires broke out in a non-residential building, ambulances were damaged, and another fire erupted on the grounds of a film studio. One injured person was found at one of the affected sites.

Emergency crews are also battling a fire at an industrial facility in the Bucha district, with authorities continuing to assess the situation.
