4 dead, 4 injured in Crimea shooting by Russian serviceman

Four people were killed and four others injured after a Russian serviceman opened fire on fellow soldiers and civilians in the village of Khmelnytske near Sevastopol.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that Sevastopol's Russian-installed governor, Mikhail Razvozhayev, said one serviceman was killed and another wounded in the shooting.

The attacker then targeted local residents, killing three civilians—two men aged 71 and 59, and a 64-year-old woman—and injuring three others.

The suspect has been detained.

Emergency services, investigators and forensic specialists are working at the scene to establish the circumstances and motive behind the attack.

Razvozhayev expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and said all those injured are receiving emergency medical assistance.
