They're hurting in a big way. They want this thing to be over. The question is whether they're able their system is able to give the things that are necessary for us to be happy, for us to feel like we've gotten what we need out of this particular engagement. That is still to be determined. But I do think that we've made some progress over the last few days.

Axar.az reports that U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance made the remarks in an interview with Fox News while discussing negotiations with Iran.

Vance said the United States was “talking to the Iranians” and trying to maximize the amount of oil and gas flowing through the Strait of Hormuz.

“We're talking to the Iranians of course. We're trying to maximize the amount of oil and gas that are coming out of the Strait of Hormuz. That's the thing that we're most focused on right now,” he said.

Vance added that Washington was seeking to determine whether Tehran was willing to make the long-term changes.

“And right now we're trying to see if they're willing to make the kind of long-term changes that would be necessary to have a better relationship with the United States,” Vance said.

He also said the United States was currently “in the middle of the game” in efforts to resolve the conflict with Iran, using diplomatic, economic and military tools to achieve what he described as the best outcome for the American people.
