Pezeshkian praises Azerbaijan’s role in supporting Iran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian highlights Azerbaijan’s role in regional diplomacy amid the blockade.

Axar.az reports, citing Tasnim, that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the role of regional diplomacy and neighboring countries, particularly Azerbaijan, amid the blockade imposed on Iran.

“Azerbaijan had closed all the roads and our bank... We spoke by phone, and within two hours they reopened them. The bank was reopened, the embassy was reopened, and the road was reopened. They helped us during the war and opened many routes, both with Russia and their own routes. They provided whatever assistance was needed and cooperated with us.”

Pezeshkian said Iraq had taken similar steps, noting that such regional diplomacy had played an important role in helping Iran break through the blockade imposed on the country.
