Seven Uzbek nationals killed in drone attack on Tatarstan

Seven Uzbek nationals were among 13 people killed in a Ukrainian drone attack on Nizhnekamsk in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan on August 10.

Axar.az reports, citing Uzbek media, that the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Kazan confirmed that seven of the victims were Uzbek citizens.

The consulate said it had established the necessary contacts with local authorities and investigative agencies to clarify the circumstances of the incident. The remains of the deceased Uzbek nationals are expected to be repatriated to Uzbekistan after forensic examinations and other necessary official procedures are completed.

According to local authorities, 13 people were killed in the attack, while 75 sought medical assistance and 21 were hospitalized.

The circumstances and exact locations in which the Uzbek nationals were killed have not been disclosed. There is also no information yet on whether any Uzbek citizens were among those injured.
