Two train crew members killed in Russian drone strike -

In Odesa, a Russian jet-powered Shahed drone struck the locomotive of a passenger train, killing the driver and his assistant.

Axar.az informs, citing Ukrainian media, that the tragedy was reported by Oleksandr Pertsovskyi, chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia.

“Unfortunately, I have to personally report the worst: according to preliminary information, this strike left no chance for our locomotive crew — the driver and his assistant,” he said.

According to Pertsovskyi, the drone threat was detected in advance, after which the monitoring team ordered the train to stop. At the time, the train was entering a station so that passengers could safely evacuate.

However, due to the jet-powered Shahed’s sudden maneuver, there was not enough time to bring the train to a complete stop and evacuate the locomotive crew.

Meanwhile, all 340 passengers and the train crew were evacuated to a safe location. No passengers or other crew members were injured.
